CITIBANK RESTAURANT WEEK INDIA 2013

The true foodie is always on the lookout for that ultimate gourmet experience. More often than not, this experience does not make it to the top of your ‘Pocket friendly things-to-do’ list. And hence, such a culinary delight is a not so regular activity for the low on cash but high on desire foodie!

But, there exists a silver lining for all dark clouds (Yes, foodies included) and this silver lining comes forth in the avatar of ‘Restaurant Week’. This is an immensely popular concept from London and New York that offers three-course meals at fancy restaurants for a snip of their usual prices. The idea is to reach a wider customer base, and give people who wouldn’t necessarily be able to, the opportunity to sample highlights from some of the city’s best restaurants. This is also a brilliant opportunity for the participating restaurants to put their best ‘food’ forward by selecting dishes that personifies their identity and allow the diners to literally take a bite out of their proposed philosophy. Most importantly, it is a celebration of some of the best restaurants our country has to offer and a time for each one of us (foodie or not) to be proud of our culinary scene!

Citibank in association with Good Food and Step Up brings to you which commences in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru from the 1st of April, 2013. This festival lasts for a period of ten days where patrons can celebrate gastronomic delicacies with an exclusive four course meal!      Participating in this expedition is Shiro (Mumbai and Bengaluru) where guests can pick one dish from the four offered courses namely; Soups, Appetizers, Main Course and Desserts. There are more than enough options to make your world go around, whether you’re a vegetarian or non-vegetarian! The lunch buffet is priced at Rs. 1,000 plus taxes where as the dinner buffet is priced at Rs. 1,200 plus taxes. The wide range of food covers all the exotic ingredients used generously in oriental cooking be it shitake mushrooms, avocado, teriyaki and the likes. The meal is well rounded off with a choice of dessert between our personal favorite, the velvet chocolate cake and the delectable coconut and pecan tart.

Such taste bud plus wallet friendly opportunities rarely come by. So, pick out your loosest pair of trousers and head out for a 10 day joyride of culinary delights along with friends and family! A fine way to spend at the beginning of the month. We’re sure your stomach would agree!
